IT and security consulting for law firms, insurance agencies and professional services

The situation

Law firms, insurance agencies, accounting practices and other professional-services firms run on confidential information. Client files, claims, policies, financial records and privileged correspondence live in email, a document system and a handful of line-of-business applications, usually a practice-management or agency-management platform plus a set of carrier or court portals. Most of it moved to Microsoft 365 or another cloud service over the last few years, often one piece at a time, and nobody went back to check who can see what.

The risk is rarely a sophisticated attack. It's a partner's mailbox taken over by a phishing email and used to send new wire instructions to a client. It's a departed associate whose account still works. It's a cyber-insurance renewal that asks about multifactor authentication, backups and endpoint protection, where the honest answer costs you coverage. Firms this size usually have an outside IT provider who keeps things running, and nobody whose job is to decide how it should all fit together.

What we do here

We start with identity and email, because that's where most of the losses happen. Every account gets multifactor authentication, shared and former-staff accounts get closed or brought under control, and mail gets the protections that stop look-alike domains and hidden forwarding rules from moving money. Then we look at where client data lives: which documents are shared outside the firm, which portals hold copies, and how long anything is kept. Backups get tested by restoring something, not by reading a dashboard.

When you want to add something new, such as a client portal, an AI assistant inside Microsoft 365, or an integration between your management system and accounting, we check what it will be able to reach before it's switched on. We work alongside your existing IT provider rather than replacing them, so day-to-day support stays with people who already know your office.

Where to start

Most firms start with a fixed-price discovery, sized to the job. It covers your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant, email security, the systems that hold client data, backups, and the questions on your latest cyber-insurance application. You get a written read-out ranked by risk and cost, with the cheap fixes first and anything your IT provider can handle marked as theirs. Nothing moves to a build until you approve it in writing. Every engagement is led by a senior architect, with specialists from our bench brought in when the work calls for them.
